New approaches to antibiotic resistance and infection control in critical care.
This one-day symposium is designed for all those who deal with bacterial infection in the critically ill.
The first session will provide an overview of sepsis (including nutritional and other aspects of managing sepsis and septic shock), new antibiotics, an ABC of antibiotic resistance and ICU microbiology. This is designed as an update which should appeal to intensivists, advanced trainees facing examinations and microbiology / infectious diseases practitioners dealing with critical care.
The speakers in the following sessions include active researchers who will introduce promising new systems and approaches to the difficult area of sepsis in the critically ill. We will be focusing on rapid diagnostics, antibiotic resistance, and new approaches to old problems.
